Indianapolis Public Schools Indianapolis Apartments

At Indianapolis Apartments, we understand the importance of education in today's society. Parents want nothing more than to place their children in schools where they know their children will be in good hands. Especially when moving to a new area, parents want to make sure that there are appropriate schools nearby. Researching specific needs and wants for their children's education is the first step that any moving parent should take. A simple phone call to the school's district will answer most of your questions, but not all. Some cases may require a visit to a counselor who is more than willing to help a parent find the right education and school for their kids. The internet is also a very useful source for information regarding ANYTHING related to your child's education. Here is a link to the Indianapolis public schools website.

About IPS
From 1999 to 2010: How IPS is Improving

In 1999, IPS unveiled a strategic plan created by parents, staff and community members to lead the district into the new millennium. The five-year plan set the groundwork for the successes IPS celebrates today, including two national NCLB Blue Ribbon Schools, a state Four Star School, a comprehensive plan to convert our high schools into Small Schools, and a literacy initiative that has led to increasing test scores in grades K-8.

For the past year, IPS has worked with parents, students, staff and community members to forge a plan to lead the district into the year 2010. This plan builds on the previous one, connecting past efforts with current and future initiatives.

The IPS 2005-2010 Strategic Plan transforms the original eight key areas (academic standards, organizational structure, partnerships, parent engagement, communication, staff development, facilities and fiscal responsibility) into four clear target areas:

Eliminating Achievement Gaps
Recruiting, Developing and Retaining Quality Staff
Providing Clean, Safe Learning Environments
Engaging Parents and Community in Reaching Goals
These target areas are supported by the underlying belief that decisions must be fiscally responsible, communications must be two-way and consistent, and the district's organizational structure must support building-level decision making.

Here's the progression of our plan:
